President's Message
Dear Member:
I wish to welcome you to the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society.
As you know, the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society represents
you on both regional and national issues. This year we are working
closely with the New York State legislature on the malpractice crisis
which threatens all of us, as well as numerous other issues.
Recently, we just completed our 2008 Eastern Regional Osteopathic
Convention in Long Island which was a great success. My goal is
quite simple. I wish for NYSOMS to represent all DOs in the State
of New York and aim to significantly increase our membership.
There are close to 5,000 practicing DOs in the State of New York, yet
less than 20% belong to the State Society. We can and need to do
better with this. I urge you to talk to your DO colleagues who are
not members and encourage them to join. We will only become
stronger with more members.
It will be my pleasure to serve you over the next two years. I
encourage you to feel free to contact me either through our website or
you may contact me at my personal e-mail at
. I
look forward to representing each of you over the next two years.
Sincerely,
Richard R. Terry, DO, FACOFP
President
